I don't understand this description of a dress I hope you can explain. Thanks.

Unfortunately the fact that my dress was grafted on meant that this kind of underwear wasn't an option

Thank you so much. I more or less got the idea from the context (and the explanation about underwear) but I couldn't be sure my guess was right and I just couldn't find a suitable explanation for grafted in any dictionary. Is it slang?
