I'd like to ask about the meaning of "reflect back against" in the following context:

If, as some have suggested, orbs are produced by an object outside
the camera reflecting light from the flash into the camera lens,
which is in turn reflected back against the rear surface of the lens by
the shutter, producing an image of the lens itself, then it should be
possible to repeat the experiment and obtain identical results.

Does "reflected back against" mean "reflected back from"?

Does "reflected back against" mean "reflected back from"?

The shutter is between the lens and the film. Light from the flash hits an object, goes in through the lens, and bounces off the shutter. It's reflected back from the shutter, against the rear surface of the lens. (But don't ask me to explain the optics - except that I'd've thought such an image produced in a SLR camera (which doesn't have a shutter) would decide the argument one way or the other.)
