The horzion (line) can be considered (our perception of) the curve of the earth - where the land or water is no longer visible due to the earth curving out of view. When the ship draws closer it moves over the curve - over the horizon.
however this is just my interpretation of the phrase. Someone else may be able to offer a better meaning. I am not a teacher. |
