To drive through a red light (a stop light) is to drive through a junction without waiting for the traffic lights/signals to change to green (the go colour).
Does this make the phrase clearer?

Thank you.
What you mean by "junction" here?

A junction is where seperate roads meet.
For instance, a cross junction is two roads which pass through one another; a T junction is one road which is perpendicular to another - there are many more examples.
Rather unsurprisingly, wikipedia have a whole article devoted to them
Junction (road) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
