What's the meaning of it??
Especially, what's the meaning of "don't believe all your press clippings"? Isn't press clippings mean news cutting? What's the meaning of the whole sentence?

I guess the sentence means to not believe everything you read in the newspaper and that you need to be a better student. I'm not sure what the context is though, and that might change the meaning. Your supervisor might not literally mean to not believe the newspapers.
