    Dear Sirs,

    Please advise which one is correct:

    The meeting was scheduled for 1.10.2008.

    The meeting was scheduled on 1.10.2008.

    Hi Ily

    As a Brit, but not a teacher, I would use the 1st sentence:
    The meeting was scheduled for 1.10.2008.

    The second sentence could be taken to mean that the scheduling was performed on 1.10.2008, but the date of the actual meeting was later.

    It's subtle, but possible.
