I have bought new trainers that are so technically constructed that they can only be used in a gymnasium

"plimsolls" are actually the predecessors of trainers. They were canvas shoes with rubber soles that were flexible, and were designed originally for use on board ships. They were adopted for use in gymnastics and track sports as they were so easy to wear.


"I was so excited I almost let a bit of wee go"

I was so executed that I almost lost control over my bladder

"wee" here is a euphemism for urine.
