The Chairman is the chairman of the board of directors. He often does not work at the firm on a daily basis.
The CEO is the Chief Executive Officer. He generally works daily at the firm.
They are frequently the same person.

OR -
The Chairman of the Corporation may also be the CEO.
This is not the same as the President of the Board of Directors, often also called a chairman.
