I tried to prove it by/with googling but in vain. Do you agree that "get into one 's blood" have such a figurative meaning? | As a phrase, it can mean that something has aroused your enthusiasm> The sun was warm and the feeling of spring around the corner got into my blood, so I skipped down the road like a lamb. I think the usage you cite is quite literal - that the substances in coffee [and other things, such as tobacco] get into the blood stream and can lead to an addiction. |
