    Consonant [adjective] = Corresponding or alike in sound, as words or syllables.

    Assonant [adjective] = resemblance of sound between words arising from the rhyming of vowels only (e.g. sonnet, porridge) or from use of identical consonants with different vowels (e.g. cold, culled)
