Default suspect and doubt (same question but not answered)

Dear teachers,
This is a question that I posted the other day but hasn't been not answered yet. So I post it again:

The following is from my dictionary:

suspect: to not trust; to doubt
doubt: to not trust or have confidence in somebody

My question is: Can I replace "suspect" with "doubt" in the following sentences?

I have no reason to suspect her honesty/loyalty.
We suspected his motives in making his offer.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you in advance.

Jiang
