For the 2nd sentence,
Shouldn't it be 'She always butters her dad up for pocket money'?
as ' to butter someone up'

It can be either.

I'm not so sure about 'turn up to the party'* - I'd say either "turn up at" or "turn up for" (at more than for, as "for" suggests an appointment/arrangement/occasion - 'She didn't turn up for the gala opening').

You could also use "show up at the party".
