agreement.... Hi, teachers...
This time "agreement"
8 tons of water is needed.

Which is correct?

"Is needed" sounds better.

Teacher Re: agreement.... 'Is' sounds better because it is a single quantity of water which is needed for this recipe (and it must require a very big stewpot!). However, both are grammatically correct and semantically possible.
