Neither marker, though (wanting to look on the positive side, I guess) pointed out that your last suggestion ("shouldn't have been") was wrong; it's perfectly grammatical, but inappropriate (it means 'you were there before ten o'clock, and that was wrong').

Incidentally, well done Natalika. I don't think the questions were all fair: 'use "have"' - when the "have" in "have to" is not really "have" at all; and 'use "succeed"' - as if you could somehow convey the idea of "finishing" with some form of the word "succeed". In this case, I think your mistake was quite reasonable!

I can't speak for Anglika, Bob, but the the question was phrased similar to this:
"Which is right:
Sentence A or
Sentence B"
In saying saying that sentence A was right, I took it that I was also saying that Sentence B was wrong.

It's just that the proliferation of ?s around the "or" made the post ambiguous as between 'I think one of these is right' and 'I think either of these is right'. I just wanted to be sure Natali had the full answer. I certainly wasn't criticizing you or Anglika - sorry if you felt I was
