Hi, NewHope,
It's said K.K is close to American English, so that's the main reason we used this ohonetic symbols to teach pronunciation in the past. Now, we focus more on phonics. To be frank, pronunciation teaching system are in a mess in Taiwan. Elementary school kids learn happy phonics but when they go to middle school, they have K.K. tests. I was taught in K.K. as well. Did you learn K.K. before?
Twostep, how do you learn the pronunciation?
Cass, which one do you use to teach pronunciation, K.K. or Phonics?
In a marathon, a Japanese referee shouted. "Lady?! GO!" (Ready?! GO) So my conclusion is that if
twostep wants to win the prize, try Japan, because you can go first!
Best Regards,
Blacknomi
