Is adding 's wrong?
Could someone tell me which of these sentences are correct?
1.What is your father's name?
My father's name is X.
or
What is your father name?
My father name is X.
Is it wrong to add 's with father? I have heard both. If adding 's is wrong, could you please tell the reason?
2. I am an Indian.
Why is it wrong to add an article?
Regards,
Muktha.

NOT A TEACHER
Hi Muktha
1. You need to 's, as it is indicates possession......whose name.....father's.
2. As an answer to a general question, it should be "I am Indian". But when you want to emphasise on being an Indian, then you could use "an Indian".
Hopefully this logic is correct.
