Request child testimonial

My daughter been accepted by another school and the principle require me to request my child testimonial but the problem is the current school only will be given the testimonial end of the year after they finish the end of exam.

Can you please advise me how to write a letter to the new school priciple inform that the current won't give testimonial till they finish their final semester exam.

Say in the letter what you would say to the head teacher in person.
