active and passive voices in the same sentence

Hi,

Is the following sentence correct? I am not sure whether I can use one clause in the passive voice and the other clause in active voice in the same sentence.

The property was acquired unencumbered (free of debt) and provides the owner with the option of building out additional area of 1,000 square feet.

If you make a statement in two different voices it helps for clarity to write "thus" to signify that the second part of the statement is the result of the first or "also" to signify that the second part of the statement is in addition to the first.

So, I would use "The property has been acquired unencumbered (free of debt) and it also provides the owner with the option of building out additional area of 1,000 square feet."
