Is there such an idiom saying that you won't see sth even if it bites you?? like in You won't recognise love even of it bites you? or was it something else?

It's usually written, "you wouldn't recognise love if it came up and bit you."
You don't often see it written with the "came up and" section, meaning "came up [to you]."
