Two Questions About Grammar

Hi Everybody ...

I got these two questions about grammar So hope to see answer from experts .
However i know the answers but i'm not sure .

1- *I bought him a shit*
This sentence can be changed into passive voice .
A shirt is bought for him . I know this one . But is that correct to say : * He is bought a shirt* ?

2- *Smoking Causes Cancer*
In this one Can *Cancer* be object ? If not it can't be changed into Passive voice .

Yes, it's a matter of in which order you have the direct and indirect objects.

The ball (direct obj) was thrown to him (indirect obj).

He (indirect obj) was thrown the ball (direct obj).

The only difference is that when the direct object comes first, a preposition is needed.

2- *Smoking Causes Cancer*
In this one Can *Cancer* be object ? If not it can't be changed into Passive voice .

Yes.

Cancer is caused by smoking.

=> It sounds very unnatural.

2. Smoking causes cancer.
Cancer is surely the object in this sentence.
The sentence in passive voice is "cancer will/would/might be caused by smoking."
The choice of modal auxiliary verbs depends on the emphasis to what extent you want to make.

I'll try to find the answer
Both are correct. It depends on what do you want to stress whether the object or the doer.
