Some entertainers or actors begin their career as stand-up comedians.

It is a very difficult thing to do. So someone who started out that way has worked hard and understands the audience and the difficulty in show bsuiness.

Possibly. Some comedians do stand up - performing live in front of an audience. Others prefer to work for TV, where performance is carefully scripted and produced.
