Hello Automoon,
It seems to mean that the presentation can be moved away from the centre of the screen while you take the measurement.
Best wishes,
MrP
I can't understand the meaning of off-centred presentation in the following paragraph:
For this measurement, only the range scale selector may be changed and the sea and gain controls may be adjusted before commencing this test. After adjustment, the test target shall be visible at the minimum range and at 1 NM with the same setting of the sea and gain control. An off-centred presentation is permitted for this measurement.

Thank you very much for your reply, though I am not quite of your opinion.
At least, no screen is mentioned in the context.
But since your series of queries relate to radar, the assumption is that there is a screen on which the radar sweep is shown.
First of all, I don't know what a sweep is.
Secondly, I think the center is intended to be abstract rather concrete.
I think off-centred presentation is a certain style pf presentation rather than we actually move something away from the centre of something else.
I have to admit, I assumed it related to radar too. I can't imagine what other context would fit.
Would you happen to know where the text originated, Automoon?
