Default a sentence I can't understand

The doc files and/or README file will inform you should this be the case.
Above sentence is difficult for me to understand what it means.

1. Which place is suitable for 'that'..? between 'you' and 'should'?

2. if it was, why is 'should' placed before 'this'? normally, 'this' is a subject.
should comes after subject.. but that sentence is different from normal
sentences.

according to Grammar in Use.. we can put should at the beginning of some
sentences.. if speaker feels that the possibility is small.. but that sentence
seems different.. please help me.. i want you to explain that sentence easily..
and sorry for my bad english. and i hope you understand what i mean.

You don't need a that between 'you' and 'should'.

"Should" doesn't always come after the subject. For example, if the basic sentence was "You should read the manual", it does. But the meaning of should in your sentence is different. It's not a modal of obligation.
"Should this be the case" means "If this should be the case" (see below)

There's nothing wrong with this sentence. It could have been written as:
"Should this be the case, the doc files and/or
README file will inform you."
"If this should be the case, .... "
"If this is the case, ...."
"If this should happen to be the case ...."
You'd have to refer to the previous sentence to work out what "this" referred to. Perhaps the previous sentence says "Sometimes the installation does not work properly". "This" then refers to "the installation not working properly", and the original sentence makes sense.

It's poor punctuation. It should have been written:
The doc files and/or README file will inform you, should this be the case.

So that 'should this be the case' = 'if this is the case'
