consonant clusters?
Hi!
I found in a book that the syllable with the maximum number of letters we can find is the following: (c=consonant)
c c c VOWEL c c c c
I found this studying consonant clustes. I looked at all the books I have about this subject and I couldn´t find any example. So, I suppose that maybe we can find words which contain, for example, these structures: ccc VOWEL or VOWEL cccc; but not both of them combinated.
Can you give me an example of a word containig this kind of syllable, if it exists?

Not easy for a Spanish-speaker, or anyone who has grown up expecting one consonant to represent one phoneme - the 'c c c c' represents two, and the last is /θ/. Can you guess now?

I´m afraid that i can´t think of any! I´m so nervous! My final exam is tomorrow!
Please give me the example you´re thinking about! I beg you!

Re: consonant clusters?
It's "strength"; and though it's usually not countable you could say something like "The experiment tested the relative strengths of iron and stainless steel" - which gives a more balanced word, with 3 consonant phonemes on each side of the vowel: /streŋθs/ .
And I hope it's not too late to wish you luck in the exam.
