This place rocks = this place cool/nice?
Context:
Lisa Simpson made some new friends. And Lisa took her new friends to beach. Here's the snippet of their dialogue.
Erin: Hey, this place rocks! What'd you say your name was?
Lisa: Didn't. It's Lisa.
Erin: I'm Erin.
Questions:
This place rocks = this place cool/nice? Can I use it if I refer to something or someone cool? For example, you rocks. Is it right usage?
Thanks!

Re: This place rocks = this place cool/nice?
You are correct! This place rocks = this pace is cool/nice.
If you use it to describe a person...make sure to remove the s, unless it is in the third person.
You rock, I rock, she rocks, he rocks, they rock, we rock
It is a great expression and very common. For example, this forum ROCKS!!
Have a good one!

Aww...thanks. Great use of those expressions. I love "have a good one"...it is a great "good-bye". My dad always says that to people. :)
