A level Englsih Language

I have been set an essay for English Langusge. it is previous exam question on Langauge and meaning im not sure which year it is from.
it has a variety of press releases and reviews from the music industry. i have to refer to the extracts and discuss and comment upon how imprtant a study of meaning is as a branch of linguistics.
Im not really shaw how to go about writing it could you give me some help.

It'svery hard without more information. Are the articles different views of the same thing? If so, then they'll want you to look at how different views are expressed.
