extend/open up
Could anyone please help me understand the following in bold in easy English?
1. Obstacle Collision Detection, the alerting sensor extends in front of the aircraft for 2 minutes...... Additionally, the alert sensor "Opens Up" in the direction of a turn.
2. Examination of the departure plates for the airbase shows that there is also limited risk to Obstacle conflict or nuisance alerting due to the proposed tower during standard departures.
3. Take-off inhibition requires that the following conditions be satisfied.
* Vertical speed remains positive.
Thank you.

"extends in front" >> the sensor mechanically protrudes from the front of the aircraft
"opens up" in the direction of a turn >> the sensor's field of tracking is enlarge in the direction of any turn being made by the aircraft.

"departure plates" >> are used to indicate flight paths
3. Take-off inhibition requires that the following conditions be satisfied.
* Vertical speed remains positive.
The speed must remain constant and unfaltering.
Thank you.
