Go along the road along the pavement

Hi,

I'd like to know what you think about this sentence about giving directions

Go along the road along the pavement

Immagine I am on my moped; I stop and ask about the way.
Is it possible to say that sentence. By that sentence I mean that
I should drive (on the paved street) having the pavement as a reference....Is my sentence clear?
Can I use the same sentence if I were on foot ( in that case I would be walking ON the pavement, not in the middle of the street as in the former case..)

Go along the road, following the pavement....
Go along the road, keeping the pavement on your left/right side....

On foot

Go along the pavement on this road ....
