    Default IELTS Writing Task 2

I'm wondering if it's possible to write an Essay which is neutral, or does the student have to take a side eventually in a discussion essay?

Perfectly possible. You present both sides of the case and then present a neutral one.

    Thanks Anglica,

Could you give me an example of how one would end the essay. Is such writing common (and acceptable in IELTS) because I've searched most websites and a few books on IELTS and so far I haven't seen anyone talk about being neutral - always taking an argument either by a thesis-led or discussion-led approach. Thanks!
