Can you help me to understand the red parts exactly?

. An experiment that would raise concerns is genetically engineering mice to produce human sperm and eggs, then 1)doing in vitro fertilization to produce a child whose parents are a pair of mice.Most people would find that problematic ,but 2)those uses( what does those uses indicate?) 3) are bizarre and not, to the best of my knowledge, anything that anybody is remotly contemplating.

"in vitro fertilization" = combining egg and sperm in a test tube to generate a fertilized egg.

"those uses" - unless there is something preceding this passage, it should be "this use".

are/is bizarre and not, to the best of my knowledge, anything that anybody is remotely contemplating" - are/is very strange and unusual and not something that is being considered save as a theoretical possibility.
