Is this sentences correct in this context?

The topic of the poem is love. What type? (or what types?)

"The topic of the poem is love" makes sense, but I am not sure how "What type?" follows that.

(Say: "Are these sentences correct in this context?")

Yes, that's better, but "What type?" all by itself doesn't make much sense.
