Default Many clouds or much cloud?

Hi.. Which one is more correct?

There is much cloud in the sky OR
There are many clouds ....

Is the word "cloud" an uncountable or countable noun?

Sam: I see one, two, three clouds. There are three clouds in the sky.
Pat: There are more clouds than three. I see four, five, six, and seven clouds. There are many clouds in the sky.
