I guess, you can use it... i wish i went to London... I wish i studied abroad
though you feel you are not going there in the near future and will not go at all... Who knows may be some day you will have a chance to go to London :)
Hi, everybody, thank you for your help, but I'm not quite sure I have understood properly.
When I said " I wish I bought a new car" I didn't mean to refer to the past as in " I wish I had bought", but to the present as an option to the snetence " I wish I could buy.."
I've read that you have to use the simple past after wish in order to express a desire about the present situation such as " I wish I lived in London" ( but I don't at the moment)
Can I also say " I wish I went to London ( but I don't think I'll go there)
Please, HELP ME... It's a nightmare for me.
Thanks to you all, Rip.

Thank you Armion, but why do you say I guess" do you mean you are not sure?
Rip.
Now, i am dead certain of it...
