I was asking this because my teacher told me to search for it, but I couldn't find... Well, now I know! They call them silos (yes, like a missile silo), or lifts, or elevators, but silos was really the word that I had to find out. Thanks anyway!

Basing my opinion on this website: http://www.grainscanada.gc.ca/Pubs/G...es/2003AUG.pdf I would say that they use it, since they have adopted it from French. So it can't be tottaly wrong, what my teacher told me.

There is a difference between a grain elevator and an elevator that carries people.
