Default little life?

Little life =?

Little choice =? It refers to "they only can choose My Life"? I am confused by this.

The interview, after a taped session with Oprah Winfrey that will air today, came as the 42nd president is re-emerging on the American scene - if he ever really went away.

Listeners, viewers and readers will have little choice in the weeks to come but to become aware of Clinton's sprawling, 957-page book. He said he hopes the memoir is "a history of America in the last half of the 20th century as seen through my little life."

'Little life'-- an overly modest description by the former President of the United States.

'Little choice'-- means that there is so much publicity and media coverage of Clinton's book that listeners, viewers and readers will necessarily become aware of the book's existence and general contents, whether they wish to or not.
