Default Show/series

How should I call TV series such as Gossip Girl, Heroes, Smallville, Desperate Housewives etc.?

I like this show!
I like this series!
I like this movies!

When you talk about 'show', does it mean only on TV or stage performance?

One more question, during the TV series break, is it called 'hiatus'? What is 'spin-off' or 'spinoff' when related to TV series?

Please help.

In the UK these are called series.

A show can mean more or less any kind of performance.

A 'spin_off' is a series which takes one or more characters from the original series and puts them in new situations/stories.

Do you mean a commercial break or a period between series 'seasons'?

Thanks a lot, bhaisahab.

I mean a period between series seasons. This one is 'hiatus'? Hiatus is used for TV series or in general?

A hiatus is a general term for a break or pause, but I have never heard it used in connection with TV series.
