line = noun
a string of people
The line was too long for the show so we left.

to "line up" = verb
We need to line up before the show opens.
Line up for the show before 6:00 p.m.

in line = position or place
He is in line for the show.
I am not in line yet for the theater.
We can get in the line before the show.

Husband: Sorry but would you hold my spot for a second please? I will go and get some COKE. (This sentence is grammatically correct, but you might want to consider these other options as being more polite:
Sorry, but would you hold my spot for a second, please, while I go and get a Coke? or Sorry, but would you hold my spot for a second, please? I'd like to get a Coke.

B: Sure thing!
Good work, flytothesky!

I hope this is helpful,

Petra

"Get in the line" or "Come and get in line"
A: "No, sorry, you can stand there".
