Age is correct.

However, you should try to find a way to leave the word out of the sentence. It's a little unconventional to actually have that construct in a sentence. Normally people stick to "57 year-old" or "He's 57". Is that a line from a resumé? It sounds like it, anyways.

I agree with you that it's grammatically correct. I was merely speaking from a colloquial perspective. No one walks down the street and says "oh hey did you like my friend? He's age 23"
