Exclamation English methods

Hi

I go to sixth-form college, and I am writing a big assignment about terrorism that will have a quite significant influence on my notes. I am writing in english and social science.

But the crux of the matter is that I have not read any novel or short story I can analyse and interpret, so what methods can I use then? Is it enough just to have read something in english (I live in Denmark) or what?

Dear Andreas:

I don't know exactly what you are expected to do. 'Terrorism' is a very broad subject. My guess is that reading news accounts and other non-fiction pieces (essays, research articles, etc.) on your topic will be more helpful than novels/short stories.

All best wishes,

Petra

If you do want a novel on terrorism, Joseph Conrad's The Secret Agent looks at the issue a hundred years ago.
