    Default out of/ off work

    Hi,
Do the sentences have the same meaning?
    1. She has been off work with a bad back since July.
    2. She has been out of work with a bad back since July.
    Thank you.

'Off work' in your sentence means on leave from work (a temporary situation. When she is better, she will return to her job.).
'Out of work' means unemployed. (She lost her job because her bad back made it impossible for her to work.)

    Best wishes,
    Petra
