Hi Everyone,
What is the meaning of "In the summer holidays, buses going to the town center will leave the main hall every hour on the half hour during the day."

if the buses leave on the hour every hour, it would look like that:

12 midnight
1 am
2am ....12 noon
1pm
2pm
3pm etc...that means at every hour exactly, the clock's long hand reaches "12".

if buses leave every hour on the half hour it would look like this:

12:30am
1:30am
2:30am..
3:30pm
etc.
it's still every hour but at half hour...every time the clock's big hand reaches "6".

Every half hour on the half hour means: 12:00, 12:30, 1:00, 1:30, 2:00, 2:30
Every hour on the half hour means: 12:30, 1:30, 2:30...
Every half hour on the quarter hour means: 12:15, 12:45, 1:15, 1:45, 2:15...
Every hour on the quarter hour means: 12:15, 1:15, 2:15, 3:15...
