Default Is this sentence used properly for this expression?

The expression: Pound the pavement

i.e. I was wondering what today would bring, so I pounded the pavement daydreaming.

Default Re: Is this sentence used properly for this expression?

Well, the sentence is OK grammatically, but it does not really reveal the meaning of the idiom. 'Pounding the pavement' involves hard, long walking in the city with a goal in mind: 'I pounded the pavement looking for a job'; 'The policemen are now pounding the pavement more, in order to better relate to the local residents'.
