    Question Prepositions

    Hi,

    Please advise & explain the correct usage of the following sentences:

    1a)Aunt May has been living alone since her husband passed away.
    1b)Aunt May has bee living alone while her husband passed away.

    2a) It started to rain while we were about to leave for dinner.
    2b) It started to rain as we were about to leave for dinner.
