Default I will lay me down

Hi,

"Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down"

What's the difference in meaning between 'I will lay me down' and 'I will lie down'?

Thanks

I'd try to avoid using sentences found in lyrics, especially in official writing.

For simplicity, I'd just use "I will lie down."
