Default What does this sentence mean?

Dear teachers,

I saw this sentence somewhere, but don't understand:

"Traditional scientific method has always been at the very best 20-20 hindsight."

thanks

Our human vision is called a 20/20 vision when the sharpness and clarity at distance is perfect...you can see extremely well. That's a scientific term but it also means that our perception of things is supreme when looking back at things...we know we would have done those things differently, smarter, better. That's why all of us have an excellent 20/20 vision when we talk about things that have already happened.
For short we say hindsight's 20.
