I could judge where the sound came from.
If I cancel "from", is the sentence correct?

No, I think you need the "from" in the sentence for it to work.

I agree with Red. You can't remove "from" from that sentence and have the sentence still mean something in English.

If you really want to remove 'from', you'd have to use 'whence', which is a bit old-fashioned.
