Default 6th grade question

We are trying to fill in the blank of this sentence:

The __________________ _____________________ of a sentence begins with a verb (and is only the verb) and tells you the action.

I was thinking it was "predicate verb", but cannot find a definitive answer online.

thank you for your help,
nc

sentence - subject = predicate
sentence - subject - operator = predication
