meaning
Instead of showing objects upside down, as the Dutch telescope had done, it showed them the right way up.
What is the meaning of the underlined part. Of course I get the meaning but I want the meaning of the expression "the right way up" I couldn't find it in my dictionary.
Many noblemem and senators he wrote "though of advanced age" mounted to the top of the .... Does "advanced age" mean "old" here?
Thanks

'The right way up' is not an expression, it simply means what it says 'not upside down'.
