My take is that the speaker estimates that he can't be any better (like, he's perfect), so it would take a clone/twin to get a (quantitative) improvement.
I think the speaker means he is perfect. So if there were any other one who is better than me, that would be JUST another "me". So the speaker is being arrogant!
