In the UK, it's becopme very common to use program for software and programme elsewhere.

Yes, 'program' is the correct spelling in the IT industry everywhere.
This also applies to 'disk', as in 'floppy disk', even if you use 'disc' in other senses - "I have a slipped disc in my back."
